A woman sustained major injuries this afternoon in a head-on collision with a dump truck on Highway 108 west of Jamestown.
At 11:52 p.m., a woman — whose name has not been released — was driving a gold Chrysler Sebring west on Highway 108 at Bell Mooney Road. Two dump trucks were headed east, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Tim Scott.
The woman was weaving across the road for an unknown reason and clipped the first dump truck before colliding head-on with the second, Scott said. Her car flipped and she was pinned under it.
People nearby helped hold the car up as a truck was brought in to lift the car off of her. She was then taken to Sonora Regional Medical Center for emergency treatment. The driver of the dump truck that was struck head-on received minor injuries. The driver of the other truck was not injured.
