Two more pull papers for Dist. 5 |
Two more prospective candidates started the process to run for Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors last week.
According to the county elections office, Jim O’Neil and Patricia Adams pulled the required papers to run for the soon-to-be-vacant District 5 seat. Current Supervisor Dick Pland announced recently that he will not seek re-election after four terms. If they complete the paperwork, O’Neil and Adams would face retired Air Force colonel and Columbia resident Karl Rodefer, who started the process Dec. 30. O’Neil, of Jamestown, declared his intentions to run not long after Pland’s announcement. He is currently serving on the Jamestown Area Planning Commission. Adams could not be reached for comment by Monday afternoon. Domenic Torchia has also stated he will run for the District 5 seat. Should he pull out the paperwork, that would still make District 5 the second-most crowded race, behind District 1. Current District 1 Supervisor Liz Bass, past Board of Supervisors and Sonora City Council candidate Jim Garaventa, Tuolumne County Office of Education Trustee Sherri Brennan, Realtor and former Sonora mayor Jim Hildreth and Sonora resident Randy Cofer have all officially started the process of running for Bass’ seat. Supervisor John Gray of District 4 in the south county has also pulled paperwork to run for a second term. He was the only person do to so in that district as of Friday afternoon. |
