Temperatures are expected in the 80s this week in the Mother Lode, according to the National Weather Service.
That’s just after some rain and lows still in the 30s over the weekend. Saturday’s low temperature was 33 in Sonora. Over a tenth of an inch of rain fell in Big Hill on Friday, according to Union Democrat weather watchers.
Now through Monday, high temperatures are forecast to teeter between the low 80s and high 70s in Sonora and Angels Camp.
Today is the hottest predicted day — as high as 86 degrees in Sonora, according to AccuWeather, a private weather-forecasting service. That’s 1 degree less than the date’s record of 87 degrees set in 1989.
The National Weather Service, however, predicts a high of 82 degrees today.
