The search for three vintage Volkswagen buses stolen early Saturday in Manteca ended Monday night in Copperopolis.

The vans belong to the Tillamook Cheese Co. of Oregon, which offered a $10,000 reward for their safe recovery. The trailer that carried them was found burned near Jamestown early Sunday.

Manteca police said they served a search warrant on a self storage unit on Cosmic Court about 8:30 p.m. Monday and found the missing vehicles.

Manteca Police Chief Nick Obligacion said an announcement of arrests or suspect information will be made today.

The buses have appeared throughout the nation since 2009. They are part of Tillamook’s “Loaf Love” promotional tour, each one highlighting the company’s different cheese, yogurt and ice cream products.

Police said the buses are worth about $100,000 each. The vehicles, originally made in 1959, 1964 and 1966, all have Oregon license plates, YUM4, YUM5 and YUM6. All are custom painted orange with “Tillamook” in white along the sides.

They were scheduled to stop at grocery stores in Oakdale, Riverbank and Modesto on Wednesday.
