PUBLIC MEETING: Calaveras County Board of Supervisors, 9 a.m., Tuesday, Board Chambers, 891 Mountain Ranch Road, San Andreas.
The Calaveras County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday will address speed limits on roads from San Andreas to Arnold.
Supervisors will consider adopting a “traffic order” that changes speed limits along Mountain Ranch Road — a nearly 11-mile-long road that connects Highway 49 in San Andreas with Rail Road Flat Road and Sheep Ranch Road.
During the past two years, Mountain Ranch Road has received various improvements, including installation of a guardrail and restriping.
An engineering and traffic study has been completed and suggests reducing speed limits in specific areas by 5 to 10 mph.
For example, 2,630 feet east of Oak Park Drive to Rocky Road is now 55 mph, but it proposed to be lowered to 45 mph.
