The three Sonora Elementary School third-graders caught smoking marijuana in a school restroom two weeks ago will return to school today on “probationary status.”
The Sonora Elementary board and Superintendent Leigh Shampain held three closed-door expulsion hearings Monday, later announcing the outcome.
Parents and children attended, but didn’t want to speak with The Union Democrat.
The same decision was made for each student, Shampain said.
Technically, the students were all expelled, but their expulsions were “suspended,” he said.
