The National Weather Service has issued a “Hazardous Weather Outlook” for isolated thunderstorms today, even as this weekend set two new high temperature records in Sonora.
Thunderstorms and a 20 percent chance of showers will break up an otherwise mostly sunny day today in Sonora and Angels Camp. Chances of thunderstorms and precipitation are slightly higher at upper elevations.
Friday had a high of 100 degrees, breaking the previous June 7 record of 99 in 1996.
Saturday had a high of 104, breaking the previous June 8 record of 100 in 1977.
Today’s high is predicted near 78. Forecasts through the rest of the week are sunny, with a high near 85.
