Of all the leadership roles Bob Trinchero has held in Angels Camp, the longest has been serving on the Board of Directors for the Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee.
He’s been a director on the 39th District Agricultural Association for the past 17 years, serving twice as its president.
“It probably says something about where my heart is,” he said.
This year’s fair will be held May 15 to 18 at the Calaveras County Fairgrounds, also known as Frogtown, in Angels Camp.
Trinchero, 73, gave a lecture two weeks ago with fair manager Laurie Giannini at the Angels Camp Museum about the history of the fair.
The county fair is one of the longest running events in the state, and the first fair was actually held in the fall of 1893 in Copperopolis.
