Two ballot measures and eight board seats in four special districts will be decided tomorrow night in a mail-ballot election.
Voters must return their own ballots to the government center by 8 p.m. tomorrow at the Calaveras County Government Center, 891 Mountain Ranch Road, San Andreas.
Under state law, only a voter's authorized, live-in caregiver can bring in a ballot in place of the actual voter.
The following seats will be decided in this election:
San Andreas Fire Protection District, two director seats. Candidates are incumbents Alvin "Al" Ohlau, David "Mick" Serra and district Fire Capt. Larry Buswell. All three live in San Andreas.
Valley Springs Public Utility District, three director seats. Candidates are incumbent Timothy "Tim" Belcher; appointed incumbent Jack Silveira; Jeffrey Duke, a machine operator; and Jim Peach, a heavy equipment operator. All four live in Valley Springs.
Calaveras County Water District, Division 5 seat. Candidates are incumbent Jeff Davidson and Ivor Powell, a retired printer. Both live in Valley Springs.
Wallace Community Services District, two director seats. Candidates are William George, a managing general partner; Patrick Gotto, an electrician/technician; Christopher "Chris" Madill, a project manager; and Bruce Thomas, an electrical design engineer. All four live in Wallace.
Also on the ballot:
Measure A, Jenny Lind Fire Protection District special tax. The district wants to establish a special tax of $25 for undeveloped land and $75 for developed land for a 10-year period. Tax revenue would help pay for equipment and hire firefighters.
Measure B, Circle XX Community Services District special tax. The district wants to establish an annual $300 special tax per parcel of real property to help pay for district road improvements.
