New owner Charlie Morgan said on Monday that the bar and restaurant have been operating now for more than a week, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. And with reservations already in for some of the hotel’s eight rooms, this weekend will be the first for hotel operations.
“It’s come a long way,” Morgan said Monday.
The former East Bay developer has been working on the hotel since purchasing it about two years ago. Built in 1919, the hotel had been through the hands of multiple owners until closing in 2010.
Morgan and his crews have upgraded the building from floor to ceiling and beyond — replacing walls, bathrooms, floorboards, plumbing, kitchen appliances and anything else that was rotten or broken.
