Ranchers were advised to begin moving or preparing to move their livestock from the Tuolumne area, in advance of possible future evacuations due to the Rim Fire.
Sgt. Scott Johnson of the Tuolumne County Sheriff's Office said deputies have been giving word to ranchers to prepare for livestock evacuations and begin them if they choose.
The process of moving livestock can be slow and can easily jam traffic if everyone tries to do it at once, Johnson explained.
