The body of Rick Roberts, 49, was found late Sunday morning by a friend in his auto shop on the 200 block of Mono Way.
Police Chief Mark Stinson said Sunday afternoon that dispatchers received a call about 11:15 a.m. reporting a bloodied man who appeared to be deceased inside a business near Mono Way and Barretta Street in Sonora.
The man was confirmed dead shortly after investigators and other emergency workers arrived.
The death appeared to be the result of a gunshot wound, according to police.
He described the death as “suspicious,” and on Monday morning said there have been no arrests and investigators do not have any suspects.
