Parking lot to close for repairs

The City of Sonora will close the public parking lot at Green and Linoberg streets for more than a month starting Monday.

The 13 parking spaces will accommodate Sonora Police Department vehicles while the Green Street police station undergoes construction to its roof and garage, according to Sonora Public Works Supervisor Bill Seldon. 

The spaces will be closed to the public through May 2, according to signs posted at the lot’s entrance.

“People are going to have to look around a little harder for places to park, but there should be parking around,” Seldon said. “It’s just a small inconvenience for a big project we need to get accomplished.” 

Police Chief Mark Stinson could not be reached for comment Thursday.
