The Sonora Police Department reported the following:


8:37 p.m., vandalism — The chain-link fence behind Sonora Elementary School was damaged.

11:34 a.m., traffic accident — A hit-and-run incident was reported in a parking lot on the 200 block of Stockton Road.

1:43 p.m., sexual offense — A 62-year-old man and a 72-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of indecent exposure after reportedly engaging in sexual activity in a vehicle parked on the 600 block of Stockton Road.

2:05 p.m., traffic accident — A non-injury accident was reported on the 1100 block of Sanguinetti Road. One driver was refusing to exchange information.

2:18 p.m., traffic violation — A man driving on South Washington Street was tailgating a vehicle and making inappropriate gestures to the driver. Police located the vehicle, which was unoccupied.

3:15 p.m., theft — A purse was stolen from a table on Hospital Road.

3:20 p.m., suspicious circumstances — Two people approached a man and attempted to sell him stereo equipment from their vehicle.

5:12 p.m., warrant arrest — A 24-year-old woman was arrested for a misdemeanor warrant and possession of drug paraphernalia after attempting to sell game controllers to a business on the 1200 block of Sanguinetti Road.

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:


9:03 a.m., East Sonora — A non-injury hit-and-run was reported on the 13700 block of Mono Way.

9:35 a.m., East Sonora — A vehicle was driving recklessly at Phoenix Lake Road and Elizabeth Lane.

9:47 a.m., Sonora area — A person received violent threats from people involved in a phone scam.  

12:14 p.m., Columbia — About $1,000 cash and $8,000 worth of jewelry were stolen from a residence on the 12400 block of Yankee Hill Road.

3:40 p.m., Jamestown — Someone drove by a house on the 20000 block of Chipmunk Road twice within 10 minutes and stopped to take pictures of the property.

4:13 p.m., Columbia — A home on the 21900 block of Sawmill Flat Road was broken into and costume jewelry and a gun were stolen.

7:37 p.m., Tuolumne — A bag containing about a half gram of suspected methamphetamine found in the bathroom of a business on the 19400 block of Tuolumne Road North was booked for destruction.

9:34 a.m., Sonora — Daniel Richard Bartels, 49, of the 18100 block of Fifth Street, Jamestown, was booked on suspicion of forging or altering vehicle registration after an arrest on South Washington Street at Restano Way.

11:15 a.m., Twain Harte — Robert Welcome Adams, 29, of the 23600 block of Highway 108, was booked on suspicion of willful infliction of corporal injury, threatening crime with the intent to terrorize, forcible oral sex, false imprisonment and a misdemeanor charge of violating a protective order after an arrest at his home.

2:08 p.m., Sonora area — Erick Allen Ray Dial, 30, of the 20200 block of Sparrow Lane, was booked on suspicion of possession of drugs for sale and criminal conspiracy after an arrest at his home.

2:08 p.m., Sonora area — Brandon Jack Greenway, 28, of the 20200 block of Sparrow Lane, was booked on suspicion of possession of drugs for sale and criminal conspiracy after an arrest at his home. 


The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:


12:35 p.m., San Andreas — An arrest was made on local warrants after a disturbance was reported on Sunset Street.

5:28 p.m., Hathaway Pines — Driving under the influence was reported at Highway 4 and Canyon View Drive. 

7:48 p.m., Murphys — A fight was reported on Main Street.

8:46 p.m., Copperopolis — Driving under the influence was reported at Highway 4 and Pool Station Road.

11:25 a.m., Rail Road Flat — Richard Bruce Taylor, 61, of the 1200 block of Ridge Road, Rail Road Flat, was booked on suspicion of possession of drugs including concentrated cannabis after an arrest at his home.
