Many spend hundreds of dollars to fill their yard with Santa figurines, others work whole wet weekends stringing lights across their roofs. Decorating homes for Christmas has long been a tradition with families all over the country.
Below is a list of a few of the areas where homeowners went all out this season.
The list is by no means complete, but will give light-watchers a few places to explore.
Two homes on the 17200 block of Margaret Drive are decorated with lights and several animated Christmas mascots, like Santa and his reindeer.
The 20800 block of Uncle Tom's Drive off of Saratoga Road has a beautifully lit home.
The 600 block of Sanguinetti Road, on the one way part of the road features home, yard and driveway coated with lights and decorations.
The 200 block of Southgate Drive, behind the Mother Lode Fairgrounds, has several decorated homes, and many more up the hillside are brightly lit.
Ponderosa Mobile Home Park on Phoenix Lake Road, near Sonora Meadows, has lights and decorations adorning the property.
The 20200 block through the 21200 block of Phoenix Lake Road has several houses with spectacular light displays.
On the way to Tuolumne on the 16200 block of Tuolumne Road, are two well-lit homes.
Winners of Tuolumne's eighth annual Al Bonales Exterior Decoration Contest are worth a look. First place, the Darone home, is on the 20200 block of Canyon View Drive in Ponderosa Hills. Second place, the Fulcher home, is on the 18800 block of Madrone Street and third place, the James home, is on the 18700 block of Pine Street.
