The deadline is June 16 to submit exhibits into July’s Mother Lode Fair.
Besides the popular animal entries, the fair also accepts food, art and other exhibits from adults and kids. Cash prizes are awarded in many different categories.
Participants can enter raw fruits and vegetables, preserves, canned goods and several forms of baked goods. There is a category for breads, muffins and rolls, then one each for cakes, confections and cookies.
All food items will be judged on taste, appearance and texture — except the canned goods, which will be judged on the quality of the canning job.
Art and craft entries vary greatly.
Entry forms must be in the fair office by June 16. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday with a lunch break from noon to 1 p.m.
For entry forms or more information, visit www.motherlodefair.org or call 532-7428. The fair itself will run July 10 to 13.
