Two 16-year-old boys were arrested Friday on charges of burglarizing the San Andreas Mini Mart.
Deputies discovered the burglary Wednesday when they responded to the mini mart for an activated alarm. Surveillance camera footage showed two people forcibly entering the rear of the building, where large amounts of tobacco products, alcoholic beverages, energy drinks and lighters were stolen.
Calaveras County Sheriff’s detectives served a search warrant at a residence on Toyanza Drive in San Andreas Friday and arrested the teenagers on suspicion of burglary and possession of stolen property.
Sheriff’s Sgt. Chris Hewitt said Friday that some of the property stolen from the store was recovered during the search.
Both boys were transported to the Juvenile Probation Department and turned over to the custody of the Probation Department.
