Many county races a lock

Tuolumne County voters will have three contested local races on their ballots for the June 3 primary election.

Of 11 local races, only county Board of Supervisors District 2, county assessor-recorder and Sonora City Council have more than one candidate.

The deadline to receive an official nomination and appear on the primary ballot passed last week.

Along with the relatively small number of candidates, the county ballot will not include any local referendums, Elections Officer Deborah Bautista said on Monday.

Bautista described this as “one of the lightest” elections she’s seen in the county.
