Man killed in solo crash

An unidentified man was killed Monday afternoon in a solo vehicle accident near Wallace.

The California Highway Patrol has not released the man’s name or personal information pending positive identification of his body and notification of his family.

According to CHP, the man was driving a 1992 Ford Explorer north on Burson Road just south of Camanche Parkway South about 2 p.m. when his truck crossed the solid double-yellow lines and left the western edge of the road.

The Explorer then went down an embankment and struck a tree after going through a wire fence, CHP reported.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, the report stated.
