A Tuolumne County man was arrested over the weekend after allegedly stabbing his mother’s boyfriend at the couple’s Jamestown home, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Michael Anthony Gilbert, 20, listed as a transient, was booked into Tuolumne County Jail on suspicion of attempted murder at 3 a.m. Sunday, after an arrest at the Sheriff’s Office.
The disturbance at the home on the 18000 block of Sierra Avenue was reported about 10:50 p.m. Saturday.
Gilbert allegedly stabbed his mother’s live-in boyfriend “several times in various areas of the upper body,” Sheriff’s Sgt. Jeff Wilson said.
Wilson believed the Sheriff’s Office has previously responded to disturbances at the residence but did not recall if they were related to violence.
Gilbert was also arrested on a local misdemeanor warrant for charges of battery, violation of probation and failure to appear.
He remained in custody Tuesday morning in lieu of $510,000 bail.
He was in satisfactory condition at Doctor’s Medical Center in Modesto on Monday afternoon and no longer listed as a patient on Tuesday morning.
The investigation is ongoing.
