Major roads in line for repairs

Three stretches of popular Tuolumne County roads will be resurfaced next summer thanks to some state funds.

The Tuolumne County Transportation Council voted on Wednesday to direct more than $674,700 at repaving Parrotts Ferry Road, Yankee Hill Road and Dodge Ridge Road.

The money comes from an annual allotment through the state’s Regional Surface Transportation program and amounts to about $174,700 more than was expected this year.

The road resurfacing will occur along the following stretches:

• Approximately three quarters of a mile on Yankee Hill Road, from Parrotts Ferry Road to about 800 feet east of Columbia Vista Drive.

• About a mile and a quarter along Parrotts Ferry Road from Jackson Street to Marble Quarry Road.

• More than half a mile of Dodge Ridge Road that tentatively runs from Pinecrest School Road to 5,000 feet east of Crestview Road, which will complete a partial reconstruction of Dodge Ridge Road and the ski area parking lot that started in 2012.
