Knowles next pick for DA? |
The Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors will likely make Michael Knowles’ appointment as the county’s next district attorney official this week.
The board’s Tuesday agenda includes Knowles’ appointment to the position, which has been vacated by Donald Segerstrom, who announced he would resign earlier this month to take a position as a Superior Court judge. Supervisors voted last month to put the appointment on the agenda for their next meeting. Knowles previously served as Segerstrom’s chief assistant DA. His term will expire Jan. 5, 2015. Also on Tuesday’s agenda: • A public hearing on Argonaut Estates, a proposed 18-lot development near Greenley and Cabezut roads. The proposal calls for subdividing 114 acres into lots between five and 10 acres large. • A fourth-quarter status report on the board’s 2011 goals and possible adoption of the planning committee’s 2012 work program. • A public hearing on reducing a fee charged to developments that don’t include affordable housing units. Currently, the fee is 10 percent of median sales price of a single-family residence, or about $19,500 per unit not built. The proposal calls for lowering the fee to 25 percent of the current cost through 2016. • Two separate two-year agreements with W.H. Breshears for fuel and lubricant delivery and card lock fueling for heavy vehicles for no more than $2.5 million total. |
