A citizen’s tip regarding possession of child pornography led to the arrest of a Jamestown man on Tuesday.
Nathan Adam Orozco, 31, of the 18900 block of North Drive, was booked about 3 p.m. on suspicion of two felonies regarding possession of child pornography and misdemeanor sexual exploitation of a minor.
Orozco posted $50,000 bail Tuesday evening and is no longer in custody.
Tuolumne County Sheriff’s deputies began an investigation on June 30 after they were told Orozco possibly had illegal images of children on his home computers.
Within days, investigators obtained a search warrant and seized Orozco’s computer and phone, according to Sheriff’s Sgt. Scott Johnson.
More than 600 images of child pornography were found during an investigation of his electronic devices, resulting in the second felony charge, Johnson said.
Possession of child pornography is a state and federal crime, Johnson said.
Orozco was not accused of distributing the matter and was not seen in any of the images, Johnson said.
