The winner will be crowned at 6 p.m. Friday, June 27, during the 65th annual Tuolumne Lumber Jubilee.
“I have a great group of girls this year,” said contest coordinator Tonia Sanders. “They are all doing great.”
Candidates must be between the ages of 14 and 18 and enrolled in high school next year.
The queen’s responsibilities include attending jubilee meetings and fundraisers. When the jubilee participates in local parades, she will also take part.
The queen must also attend the 2015 jubilee and crown the next queen.
She represents the town and the jubilee for an entire year, Sanders said.
She must also help with jubilee logging events during the 2014 jubilee.
Contestants will be judged in three categories: ticket sales (40 percent), essay on the history of the queen contest, the jubilee and West Side Logging Company (30 percent), and the obstacle course (30 percent).
They will read their essays and compete in the obstacle course at 5:30 p.m. June 26 in Tuolumne Park. The 2013 Queen, Kylee Baker, 14, will crown the 2014 queen the following night.
The annual Tuolumne Lumber Jubilee will be held June 26 to 29.
