The Stanislaus National Forest's Calaveras Ranger District will host the first of two informational meetings for recreational trail users Friday at 7 p.m. in the Penny Pines area at the Hathaway Pines Ranger Station.
A second meeting will be held Saturday, Aug. 3, at 9 a.m.
Forest Service officials will be on hand to answer questions about new efforts to reduce dust and noise impacts on private property adjacent to Forest Roads 5N95Y and 5N49.
Officials will also address the designation, location and condition of trails and roads within this area.
These discussions will revolve around the Interface Interim Action Plan that the Calaveras Ranger District released on June 27. Forest officials stressed that the meeting is not a forum for comments on the Environmental Impact Statement.
The interim plan addresses noise and dust and will provide management direction until the Interface Recreation Trails Environmental Impact Statement is released.
