Fatal Highway 49 crash

A man was killed Wednesday night in an ago accident on Highway 49, the Calfornia Highway Patrol reported.

The accident happened about 7:18 p.m. on Highway 49, south of Fraguero Road.

The driver, whose name and age had not been released as of this morning, was driving a gray two door convertible Porsche north on 49.

He lost control of the car on the winding road. The car spun out and collided with a tree on the side of the road. It then rolled, ending upside down on the roadway.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

He was driving too fast for the road conditions, CHP concluded.
