Election finance reporting begins

With only three contested local races, campaign money is already starting to trickle into Tuolumne County elections for seats up in the June primary.

Three candidates have submitted campaign finance reports so far to the Tuolumne County Elections Office. Election laws require detailed disclosure reports for campaigns that raise more-than $1,000.

The first round of reports were due March 22.

According to the reports, assessor-recorder candidate Michael Dambacher has raised the most through March 17, recording a $4,000 loan to his own campaign. The paperwork shows Dambacher has spent $1,646 on the campaign.

Fellow assessor-recorder candidate Cynthia Deutsch has received a total of $3,504 in campaign contributions, according to her filing. The donations include $1,000 donations each from Alice Shick and Joan Marie Valente, a personal $800 loan to Deutsch’s own campaign and myriad donations less than $100. Deutsch has spent $3,504 on the campaign thus far, according to the paperwork.
