The Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors’ Housing Policy Committee will hold a special meeting on Feb. 20 dedicated to senior-citizen housing issues.
The event will serve as a forum for the public to discuss and receive information about housing issues that affect the county’s elderly population, according to an announcement and flier released this month by the county.
Talks will focus on how to find affordable housing, how to age in your own place, transportation and other related services. It also includes a panel with speakers like Mike Ruggles, CEO of Sierra Senior Providers, Cathie Peacock, executive director of Interfaith Community Social Services, Realtor Kathie Burby, Doreen Schmidt, of Area 12 Agency on Aging, Kathi Toepel, director of senior services for Catholic Charities’ Older Adult Outreach and Engagement Program, Tuolumne Utilities District Director Jim Grinnell, and county transportation planner Tyler Summersett.
