The teenager accused of starting the Sonora Elementary School fire that destroyed a building in November pleaded guilty on Tuesday.
Shahaun Lemont Davis, 17, admitted to felony arson of the building and accepted an enhancement for causing more than $1 million in damage.
Davis admitted guilt after a look to his public defender, Clay Bedford.
Davis, wearing a maroon Nevada County Juvenile Hall jumpsuit, displayed no emotion throughout the hearing, occasionally answering “Yes, sir” or just “Yes,” to questions from Judge Donald Segerstrom about understanding his charges and rights.
Davis had pleaded not guilty in April to the arson charge, enhancement and a burglary charge.
