Three candidates are officially in the running to represent District 3 on the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors.
The district spans the Highway 4 corridor from the Murphys area northeast to the Alpine County line.
Incumbent Merita Callaway, of Forest Meadows, is vying for her sixth term. She has been a county supervisor for more than 20 years.
Her challengers include Arnold resident Michael Oliveira, a part-time Calaveras County Sheriff’s deputy who owns a consulting business in accident reconstruction, and Murphys resident Mike Borean, a battalion chief for the San Mateo Fire Department.
The other supervisorial race in the June 3 primary election is for District 5, which includes the Valley Springs area.
