Calaveras County residents with cable television can watch live coverage of local elections on Channel 5 Tuesday from 8 p.m. until midnight.
The countys public access television studio in San Andreas has been gearing up for coverage of county races, said studio manager Ed Lark.
Weve invited all the candidates to come in and be interviewed on camera, said Lark. We also have a number of taped interviews with candidates and people on the street and the interviews will be aired throughout the evening.
Joan Lark, studio office manager, and Ralph Barnes, president of Calaveras Community Television, will host the four-hour broadcast.
In addition to taped and live interviews, viewers of Channel 5, the public access channel, will be kept up to date on each race.
There will be a large board with all the candidates names, and well keep it up to date on all the county elections results up until midnight, Lark said.
Were doing this because there is very little local political coverage on the Stockton or Sacramento stations and we felt that this kind of broadcast is a service to Calaveras residents, Lark said.
The 2,100-square-foot Paul Moeller Studio is located at 429 E. St. Charles Place in San Andreas.
