An informal “Meet the Candidates” event is scheduled for later this month at Murphys Community Park.
The function — to be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28 — is being organized by the Murphys Community Club and the Murphys Business Association.
Fourteen candidates running in the Nov. 4 general election have been invited to attend.
Each candidate will be allowed to set up a table in the park, display signs and talk individually with those in attendance. There will be no speeches or formal presentations given.
Sue Friedman, president of the community club, said the event is a great way for area residents to get to know the candidates “in a stress-free environment.”
“There have been forums and other public gatherings, and the candidates have been attending events and knocking on doors, but here is a chance to interact informally with all the candidates in one place, at one time,” she said.
