 Tony La Russa (center), manager of three World Series winning teams, was the featured celebrity and speaker at two fundraising events Saturday for Habitat for Humanity, Tuolumne County and Sonora High’s baseball program. La Russa (above) displays his championship rings from the 1989 Oakland A’s and two from the 2006 and 2011 St. Louis Cardinals. Jim Todd, (right) of California Gold Development Corporation, emceed the event at Sonora High and coordinated the baseball fundraiser. Roger Haughton (left), a personal friend of La Russa, arranged the visit. Haughton and his wife Judy hosted the fourth annual Habitat for Humanity House Party fundraiser on Saturday evening at their home.
