The Sonora Christmas Festival, taking place Friday through Sunday at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds, hits 40 this year.
“I was a young man when I started,” noted founder Richard Burleigh of Soulsbyville.
The 31st annual Historic Downtown Sonora Christmas Parade will begin at 5:30 p.m. Friday on Washington Street in Sonora.
The 24th annual Angels Camp Parade of Lights will follow at 5 p.m. Saturday in downtown Angels Camp.
Both go on rain or shine.
Los Angeles writer-director Jon Dambacher has taken charge at Sonora’s Stage 3 Theatre Company, becoming its third artistic director in less than a year.
