“The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee,” an uproarious musical romp, opened Friday at Sierra Repertory Theatre’s East Sonora stage. The Tony Award-winning play opened on Broadway in 2005, and has been delighting audiences ever since.

Fiddle gets spotlight at Stage 3

Jamestown fiddler Dave Rainwater will present his original show, “Catgut Strings and Rattlesnake Tales: Romancing the Fiddle,” a mixture of comedy, history and music, at 7 p.m. Saturday at Stage 3 Theatre at 208 S. Green St. in downtown Sonora.
