The Twisted Folk Concert Series in Vallecito will go out swinging on Saturday.
Twisted Oak Winery’s sixth and final summer show will feature the John Jorgenson Quintet, specializing in Gypsy jazz in the style of Django Reinhardt. The quintet is the only American act ever to headline the Django Reinhardt Memorial Festival in France.
“I Hate Hamlet” seems an odd pronouncement for any actor to make. “Hamlet” is, after all, one of Shakespeare’s most influential plays and is considered by many to be the epitome of tragedy in the Western world.
Ticket sales began this week for the 2014 Strawberry Fall Music Festival, taking place Sept. 11 to 14 at the Nevada County Fairgrounds in Grass Valley. Performers will include Jerry Douglas, Eliza Gilkyson, John Jorgenson, Patty Griffin and more to be announced.
The foothills will come alive with “The Sound of Music” when the classic Rodgers and Hammerstein musical returns Friday through Aug. 31 at Sierra Repertory Theatre’s historic Fallon House stage in Columbia.
The Tuolumne County Arts Alliance’s artist in residence, Sarah Anne Graham, will continue her new show, “Paper, Print and Painting,” through Sept. 13 at the George Post Community Gallery at 251 S. Baretta St.on the historic Sonora Dome campus.
