A new clothing store in Arnold is trying to convince habitual shoppers to get their fashion fix closer to home.
Harper’s Habit opened on Oct. 1 after mother-daughter team Cynthia Stacy, 55, and Veronica Formento, 31, decided there weren’t enough places in the Arnold area to shop for new clothing styles.
They are joined by Formento’s 7-month-old daughter, Harper, who lent her name to the shop.
“It’s something we thought would be really good for our community,” Formento said. “We want locals to have a place to shop for clothes without having to drive to Sonora.”
The store sells high-end women’s fashions as well as purses, shoes and baby clothes. It also has a selection of men’s clothing.
She said the store’s main focus is local shoppers, but also offers warm winter clothing for tourists headed to the ski resorts.
“When they’re up here and it starts snowing, we want to have clothes for them,” she said.
Formento’s daughter is the store’s official “greeter” and the three of them will be happy to show customers around when the store holds its grand opening party on Saturday.
The 1,000-square-foot boutique is situated at 1224 Oak Circle in the Cedar Center. The store is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Friday to Tuesday.
