The Tuolumne County Alliance for Resources and Environment will hold its 23rd annual dinner and Pot O’ Gold Auction Saturday at Sonora Elks Lodge.
This year’s keynote speaker is Jasmine Nachtigall, development director of California Common Sense, a nonprofit organization founded by Stanford University students and alumni.
“We will revolutionize politics by engendering real transparency, robust dialogue, and direct political engagement,” Nachtigall said.
There will be silent and live auctions with all proceeds going to support TuCARE’s Tours for Kids programs.
Awards will also be given for a variety of “Excellence in Natural Resource” areas. A social time will begin at 5:30 p.m., and the beef and chicken dinner will be served at 7 p.m.
TuCARE advocates an increased awareness of natural resources in
schools and communities and believes a more informed public will make
better decisions regarding how natural resources are cared for and used.
