The United Fresh Foundation Center for Leadership and Excellence announced that Michael Crutchfield, from the Angels Camp Save Mart, is a 2011 Retail Produce Manager Award Winner.
Mr. Crutchfield was instrumental in the successful testing of a pilot program allowing area WIC recipients to purchase fresh produce.
He acts as a liaison between local growers and the Save Mart buying office, making the connection when local produce becomes available.
He is also his store’s shop steward, serving as the intermediary between his store and the employee union, working to clarify issues that arise.
He is a four-time winner of Save Mart’s Frank Siciliani Team Produce Award, given annually to the top produce team.
