Bon Appetit – Crepes, Croissants & More, will open its crepe cart Dec. 31 in The Junction shopping center, next to Kathy’s Miracle Cleaners, 13757 D Mono Way, east Sonora.
The business will be there until May when the Sonora Certified Farmer’s Market begins again.
Sweet and savory crepes, croissant sandwiches, soup, salad, French pastries, coffee and soft drinks will be sold. Special pastry orders will also be taken.
Owners, Bruno and Sally Trial, moved to Sonora from Paris in 2000 after buying a bed and breakfast in downtown Sonora. In October 2004, they bought Bon Appetit Cafe downtown, and sold the business in 2009.
The couple had a commercial bakery built at their home in 2010 so they could sell their pastries wholesale to local businesses, and later that year they opened their crepe cart.
Bruno was born in Paris and studied at the Cordon Bleu in Paris. He later apprenticed at a prestigious bakery where he learned to make croissants and other pastries.
