Hazel Mae (Siler) Kirk

Tuolumne resident Hazel Mae (Siler) Kirk died Sunday at Sonora Regional Medical Center. She was 82.
She was born in Santa Fe, N.M., to Eddie and Glesyner Siler. She spent her early years in Santa Fe. While attending school at Rockmont College in Denver, Colo., she met her future husband, Bud Kirk. They were married on Sept. 20, 1947. They later lived in Leadville, Colo., Santa Barbara and, later, Oakland. There, she operated a day care in the family home to be with her children as they were growing up. After moving from Alameda to Turlock, she went to work as a nurse’s assistant at Emanuel Hospital in Turlock. She and her husband later moved to New Jersey to join their son Ed and his family.
After Bud Kirk retired from Borden Foods in New Jersey, the couple moved back to Turlock to join their other children. In 1992, they moved to Alturas where her husband was pastor at Alturas Baptist Church for 12 years. After retiring for the second time, they moved to Tuolumne to live with their daughter and her family. She had lived in Tuolumne for six years.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Bud Kirk, of Tuolumne; children and spouses, Larry and Margaret Kirk, of Turlock, Ed and Cheryl Kirk, of Pequannock, N.J., Steven Kirk, of Berkeley, David and Sharon Kirk, of Modesto, Daniel and Julie Kirk, of Ceres, and Kathy and Randy Bullock, of Tuolumne; grandchildren and spouses, Michael Kirk, of Los Angeles, Gordon Kirk, of Spokane, Wash., Paul and Annemarie Kirk, of Philadelphia, Suzanne Arnold, of Pequannock, Brad and April Trevorrow, of Ceres, Jason and Suzanne Trevorrow, of Belton, Mo., Michael and Jayleen Bullock, of Tuolumne, Matthew Bullock, of Grand Ridge, Fla., Joshua Bullock, of Tuolumne, and Christopher Lehan Kirk, of Turlock; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Lloyd, of Grants Pass, Ore., Mary Edith Council, of Tehachapi, and Peggy Klap of Tucson, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie and Glesyner Siler; uncle and aunt, Roland and Elizabeth Siler, who helped raise her; two brothers; and four sisters.
Viewing is scheduled from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday at Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home. A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at Sonora Baptist Church in Sonora, with a potluck lunch following the service.

Audrey (Tilson) Miller

Longtime Sonora resident Audrey (Tilson) Miller died Sunday at Sonora Regional Medical Center. She was 76.
She was born in Los Angeles and had lived in Sonora since 1989. A former owner of Audales Gifts in San Jose for 10 years, she was a member of Sierra Quilt Guild and Columbia Presbyterian Church of the 49ers.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Dale Miller, of Sonora; sons, Kevin Miller, of Dublin, and Scott Miller, of Sonora; grandchildren, Jeffery Miller, of Livermore, Natalie Miller, of Rohnert Park, Shawnie Miller, who attends University of California, Santa Cruz, and Brandon, Sean, and Chad Miller; and a sister, Linda Servidio, of Redding.
She was preceded in death by a son, Brad Miller, in 1989.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home.

Consuelo V. Roy

Sonora resident Consuelo V. Roy died Tuesday at a Sonora care home. She was 94.
She was born in Newport, Va. She had lived in many places across the United States, including Oceanside, while her husband served in the U.S. Marine Corps for more than 20 years. After her husband died, she moved to Murphys and lived there for 10 years. She moved to an assisted living facility in Sonora in 2007.
Her family said she loved to travel.
She is survived by her daughters, Carolyn V. Martell and her family, who live in Murphys and the Bay Area, and Suzanne A. Quamme and her family, of Grand Junction, Colo.
She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years, CWO Earnest E. Roy, U.S. Marine Corps.
A celebration of her life will be held in the early spring at her daughter’s home in Murphys for family and friends.

Mary H. Snyder
Jan. 5, 1915 —Jan. 1, 2010
Former longtime Sonora resident Mary H. Snyder died Jan. 1 in Kalispell, Mont. She was 94.
Born in Rockford, Ill., she lived in Southern California before moving to Sonora in 1960. She lived off Wards Ferry Road in Sonora.
She was active in the community including being a charter president for Sierra Hospital. Her husband owned Snyder Realty. She lived in Sonora until 1977, when she moved to Kalispell, Mont., to be near her sons.
Her hobbies included playing bridge, cooking and entertaining.
She is survived by her sons, Tom and Dave Snyder, both of Montana; a daughter, Marylynn Langbein, of New Zealand; 23 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lynn C. Snyder, in 1980.
A service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, at Christ Church Episcopal in Kalispell.
