Sheriff’s report

THURSDAY
    3:35 a.m., Sonora area — Police checked a suspicious vehicle on Highway 108 near Serrano Road. The man sitting in the driver’s seat had a suspended license and claimed to be waiting for a friend to drive him the rest of the way to Modesto.
    1:51 p.m., Groveland area — Woman reported Halloween props stolen from the 11300 block of Merrell Road.
    4:34 p.m., Tuolumne — A man reported his iPod and cell phone stolen on the 18650 block of Main Street.

Felony bookings

THURSDAY
    12:37 p.m., Jamestown — Blake Nicholas Hatt, 18, of the 10600 block of River Oak Court, booked on suspicion of contributing to the delinquency of a minor after an arrest on the 9900 block of Victoria Way.
    9:58 a.m., Sonora — Lisa Lynne Beaty, 29, of the 22200 block of Parrotts Ferry Road, booked on suspicion of possession of drugs, a misdemeanor count of theft and a misdemeanor count of possible possession of a hypodermic needle after an arrest on South Stewart Street.
    5:01 p.m., Sonora — Sebastian Christensen, 18, of unknown address on Phoenix Lake Road, booked on suspicion of knowingly receiving stolen property after an arrest on the 800 block of Sanguinetti Road.
    8:32 p.m., Sonora area — Thomas Glenn McNamara, 28, of the 22000 block of Longeway Road, booked on suspicion of assault and possession of drugs after an arrest at his home.

Sonora police report

THURSDAY
    9:04 a.m., argument — Police responded to a public disturbance on Orchard Avenue. Two sisters were arguing loudly over the last cigarette in a pack.
    9:46 a.m., burglary — Witnesses saw a woman break into a vehicle and steal a cell phone and money in a parking lot on the first block of South Washington Street. The victim got his items back after confronting the woman.
    11:02 a.m., public displays of affection — A man slapped another man’s back side on the 600 block of South Washington Street. A caller thought the police should know.

Fire calls

THURSDAY
    5:42 p.m., Sonora area — A spot of grass  burned on Highway 108 off of Lime Kiln Road. The cause is undetermined. Cal Fire units responded from Mono Village and San Andreas. Local units responded from Sonora City Fire.

    Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs:

THURSDAY
    6:03 p.m., Stent area — James Anthony Serpa, 58, of 28200 River Drive, arrested on Jacksonville Road, north of Quartz Alley.

Sheriff’s report

THURSDAY
    12:41 p.m., Murphys — Vandalism occurred on the 200 block of Tom Bell Road.
    1:29 p.m., Mokelumne Hill — A prior home burglary was reported on the 12300 block of Worden Road.
    5:12 p.m., Copperopolis — Someone was arrested for public intoxication.

    11:30 p.m., San Andreas — Nason Wayne Hoyt, 66, of the 1800 block of Wet Springs Road, Murphys, arrested on Highway 49.
