Paul Travis Reeves Nov. 5, 1942 — Nov. 4, 2009 Long Barn resident Paul Travis Reeves died Nov. 4 at his home. He was 66. Mr. Reeves was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1961 to 1968. He coached Little League baseball and girls fast pitch softball. Mr. Reeves lived in Long Barn for 12 years. Mr. Reeves is survived by children Joi Reeves, of Sonora, Michael Reeves, of Manteca, and Benjamin Reeves, of San Luis Obispo; and grandchildren Charles, William, Margaret and Jonathan, all of Manteca. A service will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday at Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Noel A. Perez May 2, 1941 — Nov. 4, 2009 Sonora resident Noel A. Perez died Nov. 4 at a Sonora care home. He was 68. Mr. Perez was born in Tacajo, Cuba, and according to his family, escaped on a Dutch cargo ship when he was 20 years old to pursue the “American Dream.” He worked for 35 years at United Airlines as a food services supervisor and retired 13 years ago. Mr. Perez enjoyed carpentry, sculpting, drawing, painting, gardening, cooking, story telling and many other activities. According to his family he especially enjoyed his retirement years “soaking up the beautiful views and sunsets” in Sonora, where he lived for 10 years. Mr. Perez was preceded in death by his son, Michael T. Perez, in 2008. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Bessie Perez, of Sonora; daughters Tania Prophet, of Sonora, and Kelly Torres, of Prather, Fresno County; sons Paul Perez, of Newport News, Va., and Daniel Perez, of Anchorage, Alaska; and nine grandchildren. A celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. Nov. 19 at St. Joseph’s Church in Fremont. Heuton Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
