TUOLUMNE COUNTY Sonora police reports WEDNESDAY 6:35 p.m., reckless driving — A group of teenage girls passed a woman at a high speed on Mono Way near Sonora Plaza. The teenagers exited and then got behind the woman, honking. Sheriff’s reports WEDNESDAY 8:12 a.m., Soulsbyville — A woman on the 20000 block of Soulsbyville Road said a boy made a lewd gesture at her and then invited her to retrieve the newspaper he was blocking. Similar complaints have been filed concerning the same person. Soulsbyville Elementary School said it would investigate and discipline the student. 6:09 p.m., Twain Harte — A woman reported being assaulted at her home on the 23900 block of Quaker Lane. 7:19 p.m., Groveland area — A woman said a truck entered her neighbors’ house on Inspiration Drive and returned with wood and a trailer. The gate to the home is broken, and the owners were absent. Felony bookings WEDNESDAY 7:50 p.m., Twain Harte — Elizabeth Ann Arechiga, 20, of the 20600 block of Chief Fuller Way, booked on suspicion of car theft and the receipt of property known to be stolen on the 19800 block of Wanita Way. Arrests Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs: WEDNESDAY 2:16 p.m., Twain Harte area — Kathleen Sue Norton, 58, of the 15100 block of Cavalieri Road in the Sonora area, arrested on Twain Harte Drive East at Highway 108. CALAVERAS COUNTY Sheriff’s reports WEDNESDAY 8:47 a.m., Murphys — Vandalism was reported on the first block of Jones Street. 10:31 a.m., Mountain Ranch — Someone received an e-mail that purported to be from the IRS, offering to deposit a tax refund to a credit card account and asking for the person’s account number, Social Security number and other private information. 12:30 p.m., Glencoe — An assault and robbery occurred “somewhere in Glencoe.” 1:25 p.m., Valley Springs — A caller reported “suspicious black garbage bags” on the side of the road. “Turns out to be leaves,” discovered a deputy. 2:15 p.m., San Andreas — A handgun was stolen on the 300 block of East St. Charles Street. 3:27 p.m., Valley Springs — “Arena panels” were stolen on the 2200 block of Heney Lane. Felony bookings THURSDAY 3:08 a.m., Avery — Daniel Eugene Jacobsen, 25, of the 3900 block of Highway 4, booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm, after an arrest at his home. At 4:50 p.m. the previous day, Jacobsen was booked on misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and possessing controlled substances without a prescription. |
