Thomas Shelton May 24, 1914 — Oct. 19, 2009 Longtime Sonora resident Thomas Shelton died Oct. 19 at a Sonora care home. He was 95. Mr. Shelton was born in Central City, Neb., and worked as an aviation supervisor for 33 years at North American Aviation, now Boeing. He lived in Sonora for 24 years. Mr. Shelton was a member of the Elks Lodge in Redondo Beach and enjoyed woodworking, cars, gardening and pets. Mr. Shelton is survived by his wife of 62 years, Helen Shelton, of Sonora; daughters Sharron Beckley, of Placerville, Terry Meikle, of Simi Valley, Connie Nelson, of Exeter, and Janine Geissler, of Sonora; grandchildren Bill Katz, Chris Katz, Kim Fontaine, Tom Craig, Jamie Nelson, Brenda Geissler and Lauri Thompson; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. No services will be held. A donation in his name may be made to the Tuolumne County Humane Society. Heuton Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements. BURT — Hazel Burt, 89, of San Andreas, died Oct. 22 at a San Andreas hospital. A memorial service will be held at noon Wednesday at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in San Andreas. San Andreas Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements. HOGG — Marilyn Hogg, 75, of Jamestown, died Saturday at a Sonora hospital. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Heuton Memorial Chapel. Heuton Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements. JONES — Julia Jones, 88, of Groveland, died Friday at her home. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements. NASH — Craig Nash, 48, of Columbia, died Sunday, at his home. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements. STONE — A service for Stacy Kay Stone, 45, of Sonora, who died Oct. 19 at a Sonora hospital, will be held at 3 p.m. Nov. 7 at Christian Heights Church.
