Jailed man held in LB robbery |
Authorities say a Jamestown man may have been involved in a home-invasion style robbery at a Long Barn home earlier this month.
The Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office has booked Roger Lee Perkins, 26, on several felony charges including robbery, battery with serious bodily injury, first-degree burglary and false imprisonment with violence, according to Tuolumne County Jail records. Perkins was already in custody at the jail when the charges were added. He was arrested Monday for a parole violation, jail records indicate. Detective Tom Memmer said Perkins matched a suspect description. Perkins has a small star tattoo under his left eye, which is what the robbery victim described, Memmer said. At 5:04 p.m. Oct. 4, Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 29900 block of Highway 108, where a 25-year-old man said he’d been the victim of a robbery, Sheriff’s records show. The victim said he was sleeping on his living room couch when, around 1:30 to 3 a.m. Sunday, he was awakened by someone punching him, Sheriff’s records said. Apparently two men had entered the victim’s home through the unlocked front door. The victim said there were two men in the house, in their mid-20s, and one was holding him down while the other punched him five to six times, Sheriff’s reports said. The victim said he passed out. When he woke, his hands were tied behind his back and to his ankles with an electrical extension cord, Sheriff’s reports said. He was able to see one of the suspects leave with several items, around 3:40 a.m., Sheriff’s reports said. The victim was able to untie himself by 11 a.m. and determined the suspects stole his laptop computer, a camping backpack, $2,000 cash, his cell phone battery and other items, Sheriff’s reports said. “We believe there are still two other suspects out there,” Memmer said. “(We’re) working towards the leads that we have.” Anyone with additional information on the robbery or the suspects still outstanding is urged to call the Sheriff’s Office at 533-5815. |
