Hathaway Pines pot bust nets 7K plants |
More than 7,000 marijuana plants were seized earlier this week from public lands in Hathaway Pines.
The Calaveras Narcotics Enforcement Unit and the California
Department of Justice combined operations in the seizure of the plants,
plus 10 pounds of processed marijuana, from two growing sites,
according to a news release issued Wednesday by the Calaveras County
Sheriff’s Department.
Evidence indicated that the marijuana grows had ties to a
Mexican national drug trafficking organization, officials said. No
suspects were found at the site. |
