Man lying in road hit by car |
A 51-year-old Jamestown man suffered major injuries when he was hit by a car early this morning.
The 3:42 a.m. accident occurred at Highway 120 and O'Byrnes Ferry Road.
Russell J. Ramirez, of Jamestown, was lying in the road, partially
into the westbound lane of 120 when a 2005 Toyota Tundra, driven by
Charles L. Johnson, 44, of Soulsbyville, hit Ramirez, fracturing his
left leg.
Johnson didn't see Ramirez because the latter was wearing dark clothing, CHP said. Ramirez was extremely intoxicated, CHP said, and earlier in the evening had been arguing with patrons of Rosalinda's Motel, formerly called the Winkin' Lantern. Ramirez was taken to Sonora Regional Medical Center.
