Fire destroys Dorrington home

Three adults escaped uninjured from a residence that burned in Dorrington early this morning.

Two adult dogs and a puppy also lived at the house, said American Red Cross spokesman Jay Quick. He said the puppy was seen running around during the fire, then disappeared, and neighbors planned to search for it today.

The fire, on the 5000 block of Meko Drive, was reported about 3 a.m. and contained about an hour later. The cause and damages had not been determined by press time.

Quick said the American Red Cross offered to provide temporary lodging for the three people who lived in the house, but they declined, saying they planned to stay with relatives. The Red Cross provided $485 worth of food and clothing, he said.

Ebbetts Pass Fire Protection District responded to the fire.
